149:1-3 Music is an integral part of the worship experience at Trinity. Trinity
is blessed with abundant musical talent throughout the congregation, including children,
youth, and adults.
Mr. Don Shabkie, our Organist/Choirmaster, is a professional
musician and composer and often uses original arrangements and compositions.
As a result, Trinity has earned a reputation for the high quality of its
music program that has prominence in, but remains subservient to, the worship

The Chancel Choir and the Bell Choir perform regularly
at our worship services. On special occasions, other outstanding local
musicians also participate. The Children's Choir and Cherub Choir also perform on
special occasions.
Dr. Les Hicken, Furman University Music Professor and
Director of the Furman University Bands, is an active member at Trinity. He has conducted
at many of the five services each year that use large ensembles composed
mostly of brass and strings. Lisa Barksdale, Adjunct Professor of Voice at
Furman University, is an active member at Trinity,
sings in the Trinity Chancel
Choir, and often conducts the choir.
In 1999, a magnificent 3-manual Rogers 960-D organ with MIDI accessory was
installed in the sanctuary. |
