Heifer International Project –
This project is an example of
helping people to help themselves. A family in an impoverished area is given a
breeding pair of animals, such as chickens, cattle, rabbits, or goats with the
hope that the animals will produce offspring as well as food The family is
expected to share their young stock with others when they are able. We have an
offering every year for the Heifer Project at which we are asked to donate and
the fun part is that we get to choose the animal that we give!
Operation Christmas Child (Shoebox ministry) This international ministry, led
and coordinated by Franklin Graham gives congregants the opportunity to share
toys, candies, school supplies, and toilet articles with children in
underdeveloped countries at Christmas time. A copy of the Christmas story is
added to each box before being shipped to the recipients.
